A high-quality PVC floor
You will probably wonder what a high-quality PVC floor exactly means. Because a floor is a floor, right? What could be the difference between them? Some suppliers try to produce the floors as cheaply as possible and do not always use the best materials for this. The floors are also often very thin, so there is a faster chance of damage. In this way, you actually lose several advantages that PVC can offer.
For example, producers may opt for materials that are not good for nature and can also be harmful to health. There is also a greater chance that the floor will expand or shrink quickly. This is certainly not ideal in the home and therefore absolutely not desired. By choosing a high-quality PVC floor you will not have these problems. They will often be a bit more expensive, but a lot better in quality. This way you can be sure that you have chosen a floor that will last for years and will remain beautiful.
What should I pay attention to when buying a PVC floor?
If you are going to buy a PVC floor, it is first important to look at the thickness of the top layer. This can vary from 0.3 to 0.7 millimeters. The thicker this top layer is, the higher the quality of the PVC floor. The suitable thickness depends on where the floor is used. In the living room, for example, it is best to opt for a thick layer, because this is used a lot and walked over. In the bedroom, on the other hand, the layer may be quite a bit thinner.
In addition, the composition of the PVC floor is also very important. A cheap PVC floor is often made of thermoplastic plastic. This is also called PVC powder. This is a lot less strong than solid PVC. With thermoplastic plastic, powder particles can be released after some time. These can be harmful to health. We certainly do not recommend this type of flooring.
The difference in quality explained
The available PVC floors therefore differ a lot in quality. Often you can already know the quality based on the price per square meter. In addition, you should always look at the information that is given. Always look at the thickness of the floorboards, how they feel and what material they are made of.
For example, you often already know that PVC floors up to € 30 are very thin and therefore only suitable for light use. These types of PVC floor can be used in, for example, a guest room that is not used often or another room where the floor is not intensively walked. The floors of these prices are of lower quality, which increases the risk of damage.
The floors up to € 45,- are already of a much better quality and often have more choice in terms of colors and designs. These floors are suitable for daily domestic use. These floors are therefore of good quality and will be the best choice for most houses to lay down. They can have quite a bit and will therefore be wear-resistant and still look beautiful after a longer period of time.
In addition, we also have PVC floors that are more expensive than € 45. These floors are of the best quality and also a lot thicker. These are PVC floors that are mainly suitable for shops or office buildings. These are places where it is used a lot and where there is a lot of walking all day long. It will be a good investment for the home, but not necessarily necessary given the daily use.
